Book this 3 day Rwanda chimpanzee tracking and Lake Kivu tour for a chance to explore one of the oldest mountain rainforests and one of the most scenic lakes in central Africa.

You will do the chimpanzee tracking adventure in Nyungwe National Park which has more than 500 chimpanzees and is thus one of the best places to see chimps and many other primates. The park has 12 other species of primates.

The popular canopy walk tour cannot be missed on any trip to Nyungwe forest national park as it offers an insight into the forest canopy where elusive monkeys and birds live, plus you will enjoy breathtaking views across the mountain rainforest.

After the adventure tours in Nyungwe forest there is no better place in Rwanda than Lake Kivu to go for relaxation and explore one the most beautiful lakes in Central Africa.

Trip Itinerary

Our tour driver shall pick you up from your hotel at 7am prompt and travel to Nyungwe National Park in southwestern Rwanda. This is a 5 – 6 hours drive with a stopover in Butare for lunch. Get to Nyungwe and do the canopy walk tour at 3pm which is a 1.5 – 2 hours walk depending your fitness. Thereafter you shall transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early rise and transfer to the park by 5am to meet the guides and set out for chimpanzee trekking adventure in Nyungwe National park (Cyamudongo forest). On return from the forest you shall transfer to Kibuye town along Lake Kivu and check into your hotel on the shore of the lake to relax away the rest for the day.

You will set out for a 2 hour morning ride on Lake Kivu to explore the scenic shores and visit some islands. After lunch you shall depart for Kigali.
